Swiss skier Sandro Viletta put in a stellar slalom run to win the gold medal in the Sochi Olympic mens super-combined on Friday. Viletta finished in a combined time of two minutes, 45.20 seconds over the downhill and slalom runs that make up the competition. The winner is the competitor with the fastest total time. Ivica Kostelic of Croatia won his third consecutive Olympic silver medal in the event, posting a total time of 2:45.54. He is the first man to win three Olympic medals in the combined. Kostelic was seventh after the downhill, a strong performance for the technical specialist. The 34-year-old won silver in the combined at the Turin Games, and silver in both the combined and the slalom at the Vancouver Olympics. Christof Innerhofer of Italy demonstrated improved slalom skills to win the bronze medal. Innerhofer has been known as more of a downhill specialist, but he tied technical specialist Kostelic on the slalom portion of the event. Norwegian Kjetil Jansrud was leading the event after the downhill, but finished fourth overall after the slalom, missing a medal by 0.59 seconds. American skiers had won this event at the last two Olympic Games. Vancouver champion Bode Miller struggled through a series of gates high on the slalom course and never recovered enough speed to challenge for the podium. Teammate Ted Ligety, who won the combined in Turin, never looked comfortable on the slalom course and finished well back. Canadian Morgan Pridy had a tough go of it in his first Olympic experience. The Whistler, B.C., native was in 25th place following the downhill. During the slalom, Pridy struggled with his rhythm and finished in 2:50.03. Warm temperatures in the slalom run made course conditions slower. It seemed to be a factor in the downhill as well, with Jansruds time in the ninth starting slot not overly threatened by subsequent skiers. Through the duration of the slalom, skiers fought the soft and wet conditions, many losing the battle and scoring a DNF. Reid Duke Jersey . Tony Parker had 33 points and nine assists and San Antonio never trailed in a resounding 116-92 victory over Portland, bullying the younger Trail Blazers in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals. Malcolm Subban Jersey . Mired in an offensive slump, Lowry - the NBAs leader in taking charges this season - did what he has learned to do best, standing his ground and drawing a crucial offensive foul on the Cavaliers all-star point guard. Fast forward 30 seconds to the Cavs next possession, with the home team still trailing by three, Spencer Hawes - one of the leagues best passing big men - threw an interception, intended for Tyler Zeller and picked off by DeMar DeRozan. http://www.goldenknightsnhlshop.com/jon ... rsey-c-33/. Re-signed by the club to a one-year, two-way (NHL/AHL) contract on July 5, Bass appeared in three preseason games with Columbus prior to breaking a bone in his hand on Sept. Keegan Kolesar Jersey . They have watched it from afar. And now they have seen it for themselves.BELEK, Turkey - Brooks Koepka claimed his maiden European Tour title after overcoming a two-shot deficit in the final round to win the Turkish Airlines Open by a stroke on Sunday. The American player shot a final-round 7-under 65 for an overall 17 under 271 that edged Englands Ian Poulter.I feel like Ive been playing really well and Ive been knocking on the door, and these last maybe two, three months, Ive been very close over here and in the States, Koepka said. I also felt like I should have won a couple. But Ive been knocking on the door and Ive learned something every time, and used that today. I was very relaxed, very calm today. It showed I guess.Poulter had a chance to force a play-off but missed a five-foot birdie putt on the last. The Englishman secured his best finish all season but was left lamenting the missed opportunity on the final green.Disappointing is the outcome but hats off to a great round today from Brooks as hes played some superb golf there, said Poulter. Its frustrating, is what it is. Theres no other word for it. Yes, Im going to be angry. Ill be angry for a good few days. But thats fine. Ill keep myself in my own little room and have a little chat with myself and come out and win next week. The win means Koepka will finish the year ranked inside the top 50, which carries an automatic invitation to the Masters.Ive had kind of had Augustaa on the schedule since playing in the U.ddddddddddddS. Open this year, he said. So that invitation is going to be nice and I was actually told in the locker room, I didnt even know at the time. My dad somehow knew it, which I have no clue he said something to me and I was like, okay, right, funny. But yes, definitely looking forward to that. That will be great as growing up, watching that tournament, has always been special.Koepka, who won four times on the secondary Challenge Tour over the past two seasons, jumped from 43rd to sixth in the Race to Dubai standings and becomes one of the favourites to be named European Tour Rookie of the Year.Other results ensured that top-ranked Rory McIlroy captured the 2014 Race to Dubai crown, his second in three years, after his nearest rivals failed to win here.McIlroy will return to competition for next weeks European Tour season-ending DP World Tour Championship with the title in the bag with nearest challengers Jamie Donalson, Sergio Garcia and Marcel Siem no longer within striking distance. The Northern Irishman was among the first to congratulate Koepka, taking to Twitter to say: Massive congrats to my good buddy @BKoepka on his win in Turkey!
